Luke 23:44-47.

"Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice , He said, 'Father, into your hands I commit My spirit.' Having said this, He breathed His last. So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous Man!'"   God bless you.

Hebrews 10:19-39.

Hebrews 10:19-39 (GNT) 19We have, then, my friends, complete freedom to go into the Most Holy Place by means of the death of Jesus. 20He opened for us a new way, a living way, through the curtain-that is, through his own body. 21We have a great priest in charge of the house of God. 22So let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, with hearts that have been purified from a guilty conscience and with bodies washed with clean water. 23Let us hold on firmly to the hope we profess, because we can trust God to keep his promise. 24Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. 25Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer. 26For there is no longer any sacrifice that will take away sins if we purposely go on sinning after the truth has been made known to us. 27Instead, all that is left is to

Ezekiel 33:30-33.

"As for you, son of man, the children of your people are talking about you beside the walls and in the doors of the houses; and they speak to one another, everyone saying to his brother, 'Please come and hear what the word is that comes form the LORD.' So the come to you as people do, the sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but the do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain. Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them. And when this comes to pass-surely it will come-then they will know that a prophet has been among them."   God bless you.

Hebrews 10:1-16

Hebrews 10:1-16 (GNT)   1The Jewish Law is not a full and faithful model of the real things; it is only a faint outline of the good things to come. The same sacrifices are offered forever, year after year. How can the Law, then, by means of these sacrifices make perfect the people who come to God? 2If the people worshiping God had really been purified from their sins, they would not feel guilty of sin any more, and all sacrifices would stop. 3As it is, however, the sacrifices serve year after year to remind people of their sins. 4For the blood of bulls and goats can never take away sins. 5For this reason, when Christ was about to come into the world, he said to God: You do not want sacrifices and offerings, but you have prepared a body for me. 6You are not pleased with animals burned whole on the altar or with sacrifices to take away sins. 7Then I said, Here I am, to do your will, O God, just as it is written of me in . 11Every Jewish priest performs his services every day and off

Hebrews 9:1-28.

Hebrews 9:1-28 (GNT) 1The first covenant had rules for worship and a place made for worship as well. 2A tent was put up, the outer one, which was called the Holy Place. In it were the lampstand and the table with the bread offered to God. 3Behind the second curtain was the tent called the Most Holy Place. 4In it were the gold altar for the burning of incense and the Covenant Box all covered with gold and containing the gold jar with the manna in it, Aaron's stick that had sprouted leaves, and the two stone tablets with the commandments written on them. 5Above the Box were the winged creatures representing God's presence, with their wings spread over the place where sins were forgiven. But now is not the time to explain everything in detail. 6This is how those things have been arranged. The priests go into the outer tent every day to perform their duties, 7but only the high priest goes into the inner tent, and he does so only once a year. He takes with him blood w

"Now after John was put int prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, 'The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.'" God bless you.

Revelation 12:13-17.

"Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and a half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a river after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the women, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." God bless you.

Exodus 20:1-26.

Exodus 20:1-26 (GNT) 1God spoke, and these were his words: 2I am the Lord your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves. 3Worship no god but me. 4Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth. 5Do not bow down to any idol or worship it, because I am the Lord your God and I tolerate no rivals. I bring punishment on those who hate me and on their descendants down to the third and fourth generation. 6But I show my love to thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my laws. 7Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the Lord your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name. 8Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. 9You have six days in which to do your work, 10but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day no one is to work-neither you, your children, your slaves, your animals, nor the foreigners who live in your country. 11In six days I, the Lord, made the earth, the sky, the

Matthew 3:18-22.

"And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galillee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, 'Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.' They immediately left their nets and followed Him. Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him."   God bless you.

Exodus 19:1-25

Exodus 19:1-25 (GNT) 1-2The people of Israel left Rephidim, and on the first day of the third month after they had left Egypt they came to the desert of Sinai. There they set up camp at the foot of Mount Sinai, 3and Moses went up the mountain to meet with God.The Lord called to him from the mountain and told him to say to the Israelites, Jacob's descendants: 4You saw what I, the Lord, did to the Egyptians and how I carried you as an eagle carries her young on her wings, and brought you here to me. 5Now, if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own people. The whole earth is mine, but you will be my chosen people, 6a people dedicated to me alone, and you will serve me as priests. 7So Moses went down and called the leaders of the people together and told them everything that the Lord had commanded him. 8Then all the people answered together, We will do everything that the Lord has said, and Moses reported this to the Lord. 9The Lord said to Moses, I will

Revelation 16:1-2.

"Then I heard a voice from the temple saying to tne seven angels, 'Go and pour out the bowls of the wrath of God on the earth.' So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and a foul and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image."   God bless you.

Exodus 15:1-27.

Exodus 15:1-27 (GNT)   1Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the Lord: I will sing to the Lord, because he has won a glorious victory; he has thrown the horses and their riders into the sea. 2The Lord is my strong defender; he is the one who has saved me. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will sing about his greatness. 3The Lord is a warrior;the Lord is his name. 4He threw Egypt's army and its chariots into the sea; the best of its officers were drowned in the Red Sea. 5The deep sea covered them;they sank to the bottom like a stone. 6Your right hand, Lord, is awesome in power; it breaks the enemy in pieces. 7In majestic triumph you overthrow your foes; your anger blazes out and burns them up like straw. 8You blew on the sea and the water piled up high; it stood up straight like a wall; the deepest part of the sea became solid. 9The enemy said, I will pursue them and catch them; I will divide their wealth and take all I want; I will draw

Revelation 6:7-8.

"When He opened the forth seal, I heard the voice of the forth living creature saying 'Come and see.' So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a forth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth." God bless you.

Exodus 14:1-31.

Exodus 14:1-31 (GNT) 1Then the Lord said to Moses, 2Tell the Israelites to turn back and camp in front of Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the Red Sea, near Baal Zephon. 3The king will think that the Israelites are wandering around in the country and are closed in by the desert. 4I will make him stubborn, and he will pursue you, and my victory over the king and his army will bring me honor. Then the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord. The Israelites did as they were told. 5When the king of Egypt was told that the people had escaped, he and his officials changed their minds and said, What have we done? We have let the Israelites escape, and we have lost them as our slaves! 6The king got his war chariot and his army ready. 7He set out with all his chariots, including the six hundred finest, commanded by their officers. 8The Lord made the king stubborn, and he pursued the Israelites, who were leaving triumphantly. 9The Egyptian army, with all the horses, chariots, and dr

Exodus 13:3-22.

Exodus 13:3-22 (GNT) 3Moses said to the people, Remember this day-the day on which you left Egypt, the place where you were slaves. This is the day the Lord brought you out by his great power. No leavened bread is to be eaten. 4You are leaving Egypt on this day in the first month, the month of Abib. 5The Lord solemnly promised your ancestors to give you the land of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites. When he brings you into that rich and fertile land, you must celebrate this festival in the first month of every year. 6For seven days you must eat unleavened bread and on the seventh day there is to be a festival to honor the Lord. 7For seven days you must not eat any bread made with yeast; there must be no yeast or leavened bread anywhere in your land. 8When the festival begins, explain to your sons that you do all this because of what the Lord did for you when you left Egypt. 9This observance will be a reminder, like something tied on your han

Daniel 2:46-48.

"Then King Nebushadnezzar fell on his face, prostrate before Daniel, and commanded that they should presant an offering and incense to him. The King answered Daniel, and said, 'Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.' Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him great gifts; and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief administrator over all the wise men of Babylon."   God bless you.

Psalm 13:1-6.

"How long, O Lord? will you forget me forever? How long will You hide You face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, Having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death; Lest my enemy say, 'I have prevailed against him'; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved. But I have trusted in Your Mercy; My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountiflly with me."   God bless you.

Matthew 27:32-36.

"Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross. And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink. Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: 'They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.' Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there." God bless you.

Exodus 12:29-13:2.

Exodus 12:29-13:2 (GNT) Today's Reading 29At midnight the Lord killed all the first-born sons in Egypt, from the king's son, who was heir to the throne, to the son of the prisoner in the dungeon; all the first-born of the animals were also killed. 30That night, the king, his officials, and all the other Egyptians were awakened. There was loud crying throughout Egypt, because there was not one home in which there was not a dead son. 31That same night the king sent for Moses and Aaron and said, Get out, you and your Israelites! Leave my country; go and worship the Lord, as you asked. 32Take your sheep, goats, and cattle, and leave. Also pray for a blessing on me. 33The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country; they said, We will all be dead if you don't leave. 34So the people filled their baking pans with unleavened dough, wrapped them in clothing, and carried them on their shoulders. 35The Israelites had done as Moses had said, and had asked t

Exodus 12:1-28.

Exodus 12:1-28 (GNT) 1The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in Egypt: 2This month is to be the first month of the year for you. 3Give these instructions to the whole community of Israel: On the tenth day of this month each man must choose either a lamb or a young goat for his household. 4If his family is too small to eat a whole animal, he and his next-door neighbor may share an animal, in proportion to the number of people and the amount that each person can eat. 5You may choose either a sheep or a goat, but it must be a one-year-old male without any defects. 6Then, on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, the whole community of Israel will kill the animals. 7The people are to take some of the blood and put it on the doorposts and above the doors of the houses in which the animals are to be eaten. 8That night the meat is to be roasted, and eaten with bitter herbs and with bread made without yeast. 9Do not eat any of it raw or boiled, but eat it roasted whole, including the h

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.'" God bless you.

Acts 8:9-13.

"But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great, to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, 'This man is the power of God.' And the heeded  him because he had astonished them with his soreries for a long time. But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized. Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done."   God bless you.

Revelation 6:5-6.

Exodus 3:1-22.

Exodus 3:1-22 (GNT)   1One day while Moses was taking care of the sheep and goats of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, he led the flock across the desert and came to Sinai, the holy mountain. 2There the angel of the Lord appeared to him as a flame coming from the middle of a bush. Moses saw that the bush was on fire but that it was not burning up. 3This is strange, he thought. Why isn't the bush burning up? I will go closer and see. 4When the Lord saw that Moses was coming closer, he called to him from the middle of the bush and said, Moses! Moses! He answered, Yes, here I am. 5God said, Do not come any closer. Take off your sandals, because you are standing on holy ground. 6I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. So Moses covered his face, because he was afraid to look at God. 7Then the Lord said, I have seen how cruelly my people are being treated in Egypt; I have heard them cry out to be rescued from their slave drivers. I know al

"I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."   God bless you.

Mark 13:3-13.

"Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 'Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?' And Jesus, answering them, began to say, 'Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am He, and will deceive many. But when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. But when the arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry

Genesis 28:6-22

Genesis 28:6-22 (GNT) 6Esau learned that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Mesopotamia to find a wife. He also learned that when Isaac blessed him, he commanded him not to marry a Canaanite woman. 7He found out that Jacob had obeyed his father and mother and had gone to Mesopotamia. 8Esau then understood that his father Isaac did not approve of Canaanite women. 9So he went to Ishmael son of Abraham and married his daughter Mahalath, who was the sister of Nebaioth. 10Jacob left Beersheba and started toward Haran. 11At sunset he came to a holy place and camped there. He lay down to sleep, resting his head on a stone. 12He dreamed that he saw a stairway reaching from earth to heaven, with angels going up and coming down on it. 13And there was the Lord standing beside him. I am the Lord, the God of Abraham and Isaac, he said. I will give to you and to your descendants this land on which you are lying. 14They will be as numerous as the specks of dust on the earth.

"Then as He went out of the temple, one of His disciples said to Him, 'Teacher, see what manner of stones and and what buildings are here!' Jude 1:3-4.

"Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you eshorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delievered to the saints. For centain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, unglodly men, who trun the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ."   God bless you.

Genesis 27:1-29.

Genesis 27:1-29 (GNT)   Introduction Genesis 27:1-29: Isaac is on his deathbed, and asks Esau to prepare his final meal, so that he may offer Esau a blessing. But Rebecca devises a plan to secure the blessing for Jacob by tricking Isaac. Jacob disguises himself as Esau, brings Isaac the food, and ultimately receives the blessing that had been meant for Esau.   Today's Reading 1Isaac was now old and had become blind. He sent for his older son Esau and said to him, Son!Yes, he answered. 2Isaac said, You see that I am old and may die soon. 3Take your bow and arrows, go out into the country, and kill an animal for me. 4Cook me some of that tasty food that I like, and bring it to me. After I have eaten it, I will give you my final blessing before I die. 5While Isaac was talking to Esau, Rebecca was listening. So when Esau went out to hunt, 6she said to Jacob, I have just heard your father say to Esau, 7Bring me an animal and cook it for me. After I have eaten it, I will give you my

"And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, 'which' He said, 'you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.' Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, ;Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?' And He said to them, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and the the end of the earth.'" God bless you.

Genesis 21:1-21.

Genesis 21:1-21 (GNT) Introduction Genesis 21:1-21: As God promised, Sarah has a son. Sarah becomes worried that Hagar's son Ishmael will receive some of Abraham's inheritance, and orders that Hagar and Ishmael be sent away. Abraham is concerned, but follows God's instructions to send them into the desert. God meets them in the desert, blessing and sustaining them. Today's Reading  1The Lord blessed Sarah, as he had promised, 2and she became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham when he was old. The boy was born at the time God had said he would be born. 3Abraham named him Isaac, 4and when Isaac was eight days old, Abraham circumcised him, as God had commanded. 5Abraham was a hundred years old when Isaac was born. 6Sarah said, God has brought me joy and laughter. Everyone who hears about it will laugh with me. 7Then she added, Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse children? Yet I have borne him a son in his old age. 8The child grew, and on

"Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordon, to be baptized by him. John would have prevented Him, saying, 'I need to be baptized by You, and do you come to me?' But Jesus answered him, 'Let it be so now; for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.' The he consented. And when Jesus had been baptized, just as He came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to Him and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, 'This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.'" God bless you.

Genesis 18:1-15

Genesis 18:1-15 (GNT) Introduction Genesis 18:1-15: God appears to Abraham as one of three visitors who come to his tent. Abraham welcomes them and treats them as honored guests. The LORD tells him that Sarah will have a baby the following year. Sarah laughs, but God tells Abraham that there is nothing God can't do. Today's Reading 1The Lord appeared to Abraham at the sacred trees of Mamre. As Abraham was sitting at the entrance of his tent during the hottest part of the day, 2he looked up and saw three men standing there. As soon as he saw them, he ran out to meet them. Bowing down with his face touching the ground, 3he said, Sirs, please do not pass by my home without stopping; I am here to serve you. 4Let me bring some water for you to wash your feet; you can rest here beneath this tree. 5I will also bring a bit of food; it will give you strength to continue your journey. You have honored me by coming to my home, so let me serve you.They replied, Thank you;

John 17:25-26.

Jesus said, "O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them." God bless you.

Genesis 17:1-27

Genesis 17: 1-27 (GNT) Introduction Genesis 17: 1-27: The LORD promises to give Abram many descendants, and changes his name to Abraham. The name "Abraham" is a form of Abram that is similar to a Hebrew word meaning "father of many." God also changes Sarai's name to Sarah. Both "Sarai" and "Sarah" mean "princess." This name emphasizes that Sarah would be the mother of Israel's rulers. God promises that she will have a son. Today's reading, 1When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am the Almighty God. Obey me and always do what is right. 2I will make my covenant with you and give you many descendants. 3Abram bowed down with his face touching the ground, and God said, 4I make this covenant with you: I promise that you will be the ancestor of many nations. 5Your name will no longer be Abram, but Abraham, because I am making you the ancestor of many nations. 6I will give you ma

Genesis 16:1-16.

Genesis 16:1-16 (GNT) Today's Scripture: Genesis 16:13 Hagar asked herself, "Have I really seen God and lived to tell about it?" So she called the LORD, who had spoken to her, "A God Who Sees." Today's Reading 1Abram's wife Sarai had not borne him any children. But she had an Egyptian slave woman named Hagar, 2and so she said to Abram, The Lord has kept me from having children. Why don't you sleep with my slave? Perhaps she can have a child for me. Abram agreed with what Sarai said. 3So she gave Hagar to him to be his concubine. (This happened after Abram had lived in Canaan for ten years.) 4Abram had intercourse with Hagar, and she became pregnant. When she found out that she was pregnant, she became proud and despised Sarai. 5Then Sarai said to Abram, It's your fault that Hagar despises me. I myself gave her to you, and ever since she found out that she was pregnant, she has despised me. May the Lord judge which of us is right

Genesis 15:1-21

Genesis 15:1-21 (GNT) Introduction Genesis 15:1-21: God promises to protect and keep Abram, and assures him that he will have many descendants. God also tells him that his descendants will live in slavery, but that they will ultimately return to Canaan and will control a great deal of land. Today's Reading 1After this, Abram had a vision and heard the Lord say to him, Do not be afraid, Abram. I will shield you from danger and give you a great reward. 2But Abram answered, Sovereign Lord, what good will your reward do me, since I have no children? My only heir is Eliezer of Damascus. 3You have given me no children, and one of my slaves will inherit my property. 4Then he heard the Lord speaking to him again: This slave Eliezer will not inherit your property; your own son will be your heir. 5The Lord took him outside and said, Look at the sky and try to count the stars; you will have as many descendants as that. 6Abram put his trust in the Lord, and because of this the

Genesis 14:1-24 (GNT) Introduction Genesis 14:1-24: This passage introduces a number of kings from the lands to the east of Canaan. Amid their battles, Lot and his possessions are captured. Abram takes troops to find and free him. He defeats King Chedorlaomer, and is honored by King Melchizedek. Today's Scripture: Genesis 14:19b "May the Most High God, who made heaven and earth, bless Abram!" Today's Reading 1Four kings, Amraphel of Babylonia, Arioch of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer of Elam, and Tidal of Goiim, 2went to war against five other kings: Bera of Sodom, Birsha of Gomorrah, Shinab of Admah, Shemeber of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (or Zoar). 3These five kings had formed an alliance and joined forces in Siddim Valley, which is now the Dead Sea. 4They had been under the control of Chedorlaomer for twelve years, but in the thirteenth year they rebelled against him. 5In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and his allies came with their armies and def

Genesis 13:1-18 Introduction Genesis 13:1-18: Abram, Sarai and Abram's nephew, Lot, move to the Southern Desert. Abram and Lot have so many animals that they need to move apart from one another in order to have enough pastureland. Lot moves east of the Jordan River to the Jordan Valley, while Abram stays west of the Jordan River in Canaan. God shows Abram the whole land of Canaan, and he moves to live near the sacred trees of Mamre at Hebron. Today's Reading 1Abram went north out of Egypt to the southern part of Canaan with his wife and everything he owned, and Lot went with him. 2Abram was a very rich man, with sheep, goats, and cattle, as well as silver and gold. 3Then he left there and moved from place to place, going toward Bethel. Genesis 12:1-20 (GNT) Called to be Free to Trust in God's Promises Introduction Genesis 12:1-20: This passage marks the beginning of the story of God's people, the Israelites. God chooses Abram (Abraham) and tells him to go to Canaan. He and his wife, Sarai (Sarah), obey. Because of a famine in the land, Abram travels to Egypt and asks Sarai to pretend she is his sister. I will bless you and make your name famous, so that you will be a blessing.  3I will bless those who bless you, But I will curse those who curse you.And through you I will bless all the nations. 4When Abram was seventy-five years old, he started
