Ecclesiates 5:5.

"Better not to vow than to vow and not pay."   God bless you.

Hebrews 3:1-19.

Hebrews 3:1-19 (Good News Translation)   1My Christian friends, who also have been called by God! Think of Jesus, whom God sent to be the High Priest of the faith we profess.           2He was faithful to God, who chose him to do this work, just as Moses was faithful in his work in God's house.           3A man who builds a house receives more honor than the house itself. In the same way Jesus is worthy of much greater honor than Moses.           4Every house, of course, is built by someone—and God is the one who has built all things.           5Moses was faithful in God's house as a servant, and he spoke of the things that God would say in the future.           6But Christ is faithful as the Son in charge of God's house. We are his house if we keep up our courage and our confidence in what we hope for.           7So then, as the Holy Spirit says,                           If you hear God's voice today,               8do not be stubborn, as your ancestors were when

Hebrews 2:1-18

Hebrews 2:1-18 (Good News Translation) 1That is why we must hold on all the more firmly to the truths we have heard, so that we will not be carried away.           2The message given to our ancestors by the angels was shown to be true, and those who did not follow it or obey it received the punishment they deserved.           3How, then, shall we escape if we pay no attention to such a great salvation? The Lord himself first announced this salvation, and those who heard him proved to us that it is true.           4At the same time God added his witness to theirs by performing all kinds of miracles and wonders and by distributing the gifts of the Holy Spirit according to his will.           5God has not placed the angels as rulers over the new world to come—the world of which we speak.           6Instead, as it is said somewhere in the Scriptures:                           What are human beings, O God, that you should think of them;             mere human bein

Hebrews 1:1-14

Hebrews 1: 1-14 (Good News Translation)   1In the past God spoke to our ancestors many times and in many ways through the prophets,           2but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one through whom God created the universe, the one whom God has chosen to possess all things at the end.           3He reflects the brightness of God's glory and is the exact likeness of God's own being, sustaining the universe with his powerful word. After achieving forgiveness for the sins of all human beings, he sat down in heaven at the right side of God, the Supreme Power.           4The Son was made greater than the angels, just as the name that God gave him is greater than theirs.           5For God never said to any of his angels,                           You are my Son;             today I have become your Father.          Nor did God say about any angel,                           I will be his Father,             and he will be my Son.           6But wh

John 1:19-51.

John 1:19-51 (Good News Translation) 19The Jewish authorities in Jerusalem sent some priests and Levites to John to ask him,          Who are you?           20John did not refuse to answer, but spoke out openly and clearly, saying:          I am not the Messiah. 21Who are you, then? they asked.          Are you Elijah? No, I am not, John answered. Are you the Prophet?           they asked. No, he replied.           22Then tell us who you are, they said.          We have to take an answer back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself           23John answered by quoting the prophet Isaiah:                           I am              the voice of someone shouting in the desert:             Make a straight path for the Lord to travel!               24The messengers, who had been sent by the Pharisees,           25then           asked John,          If you are not the Messiah nor Elijah nor the Prophet, why do you baptize?

John 1-30.

John 5:1-30 (Good News Translation) 1After this, Jesus went to Jerusalem for a religious festival.           2Near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem there is a pool           with five porches; in Hebrew it is called Bethzatha.           3A large crowd of sick people were lying on the porches—the blind, the lame, and the paralyzed.           5A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.           6Jesus saw him lying there, and he knew that the man had been sick for such a long time; so he asked him,          Do you want to get well?           7The sick man answered,          Sir, I don't have anyone here to put me in the pool when the water is stirred up; while I am trying to get in, somebody else gets there first.           8Jesus said to him,          Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.           9Immediately the man got well; he picked up his mat and started walking.          The day this happened was a Sabbath,           10so the Jewis

Luke 2:21-40.

Luke 2:21-40 (Good News Translation) 21A week later, when the time came for the baby to be circumcised, he was named Jesus, the name which the angel had given him before he had been conceived.           22The time came for Joseph and Mary to perform the ceremony of purification, as the Law of Moses commanded. So they took the child to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord,           23as it is written in the law of the Lord:          Every first-born male is to be dedicated to the Lord.           24They also went to offer a sacrifice of a pair of doves or two young pigeons, as required by the law of the Lord.           25At that time there was a man named Simeon living in Jerusalem. He was a good, God-fearing man and was waiting for Israel to be saved. The Holy Spirit was with him           26and had assured him that he would not die before he had seen the Lord's promised Messiah.           27Led by the Spirit, Simeon went into the Temple. When the parents

John 1:1-18.

John 1:1-18 (Good News Translation)   1In the beginning the Word already existed; the Word was with God, and the Word was God.           2From the very beginning the Word was with God.           3Through him God made all things; not one thing in all creation was made without him.           4The Word was the source of life,           and this life brought light to people.           5The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has never put it out.           6God sent his messenger, a man named John,           7who came to tell people about the light, so that all should hear the message and believe.           8He himself was not the light; he came to tell about the light.           9This was the real light—the light that comes into the world and shines on all people.           10The Word was in the world, and though God made the world through him, yet the world did not recognize him.           11He came to his own country, but his own people did not receive him.           12S

Luke 2:1-20

Luke 2:1-20 (Good News Translation) 1At that time Emperor Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Roman Empire.           2When this first census took place, Quirinius was the governor of Syria.           3Everyone, then, went to register himself, each to his own hometown.           4Joseph went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to the town of Bethlehem in Judea, the birthplace of King David. Joseph went there because he was a descendant of David.           5He went to register with Mary, who was promised in marriage to him. She was pregnant,           6and while they were in Bethlehem, the time came for her to have her baby.           7She gave birth to her first son, wrapped him in cloths and laid him in a manger—there was no room for them to stay in the inn.           8There were some shepherds in that part of the country who were spending the night in the fields, taking care of their flocks.           9An angel of the Lord appeared to them

Luke 1: 57-80

Luke 1:57-80 (Good News Translation) 57The time came for Elizabeth to have her baby, and she gave birth to a son.           58Her neighbors and relatives heard how wonderfully good the Lord had been to her, and they all rejoiced with her.           59When the baby was a week old, they came to circumcise him, and they were going to name him Zechariah, after his father.           60But his mother said,          No! His name is to be John.           61They said to her,          But you don't have any relative with that name!           62Then they made signs to his father, asking him what name he would like the boy to have.           63Zechariah asked for a writing pad and wrote,          His name is John. How surprised they all were!           64At that moment Zechariah was able to speak again, and he started praising God.           65The neighbors were all filled with fear, and the news about these things spread through all the hill country of Judea.

Luke 1:26-56.

Luke 1:26-56 (Good News Translation) 26In the sixth month of Elizabeth's pregnancy God sent the angel Gabriel to a town in Galilee named Nazareth.           27He had a message for a young woman promised in marriage to a man named Joseph, who was a descendant of King David. Her name was Mary.           28The angel came to her and said,          Peace be with you! The Lord is with you and has greatly blessed you!           29Mary was deeply troubled by the angel's message, and she wondered what his words meant.           30The angel said to her,          Don't be afraid, Mary; God has been gracious to you.           31You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.           32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High God. The Lord God will make him a king, as his ancestor David was,           33and he will be the king of the descendants of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end!           34

Luke 1:1-25.

Luke 1:1-25 (Good News Translation) 1Dear Theophilus:          Many people have done their best to write a report of the things that have taken place among us.           2They wrote what we have been told by those who saw these things from the beginning and who proclaimed the message.           3And so, Your Excellency, because I have carefully studied all these matters from their beginning, I thought it would be good to write an orderly account for you.           4I do this so that you will know the full truth about everything which you have been taught.           5During the time when Herod was king of Judea,           there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly order of Abijah. His wife's name was Elizabeth; she also belonged to a priestly family.           6They both lived good lives in God's sight and obeyed fully all the Lord's laws and commands.           7They had no children because Elizabeth could not have any, and

Isaiah 9:1-7 (Good News Translation) 1There will be no way for them to escape from this time of trouble. The Future King          The land of the tribes of Zebulun and Naphtali was once disgraced, but the future will bring honor to this region, from the Mediterranean eastward to the land on the other side of the Jordan, and even to Galilee itself, where the foreigners live.           2The people who walked in darkness             have seen a great light.             They lived in a land of shadows,             but now light is shining on them.               3You have given them great joy,               Lord;             you have made them happy.             They rejoice in what you have done,             as people rejoice when they harvest grain             or when they divide captured wealth.               4For you have broken the yoke that burdened them             and the rod that beat their shoulders.             You have defeated the nation

Revelation 19:1-16

Revelation 19:1-16 (Good News Translation)   1After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a large crowd of people in heaven, saying,          Praise God! Salvation, glory, and power belong to our God!           2True and just are his judgments! He has condemned the prostitute who was corrupting the earth with her immorality. God has punished her because she killed his servants. 3Again they shouted,          Praise God! The smoke from the flames that consume the great city goes up forever and ever!           4The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. They said,          Amen! Praise God!           5Then there came from the throne the sound of a voice, saying,          Praise our God, all his servants and all people, both great and small, who have reverence for him!           6Then I heard what sounded like a crowd, like the sound of a roaring waterfall, like loud peals of thunder. I heard them say,

Revelation 15:1-8.

Revelation 15:1-8 (Good News Translation) 1Then I saw in the sky another mysterious sight, great and amazing. There were seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last ones, because they are the final expression of God's anger.           2Then I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. I also saw those who had won the victory over the beast and its image and over the one whose name is represented by a number. They were standing by the sea of glass, holding harps that God had given them           3and singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:                           Lord God Almighty,             how great and wonderful are your deeds!             King of the nations,             how right and true are your ways!               4Who will not stand in awe of you, Lord?             Who will refuse to declare your greatness?             You alone are holy.             All the nations will come

Revelation 14:1-20

Revelation 14:1-20 (Good News Translation)   1Then I looked, and there was the Lamb standing on Mount Zion; with him were 144,000 people who have his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.           2And I heard a voice from heaven that sounded like a roaring waterfall, like a loud peal of thunder. It sounded like the music made by musicians playing their harps.           3The 144,000 people stood before the throne, the four living creatures, and the elders; they were singing a new song, which only they could learn. Of the whole human race they are the only ones who have been redeemed.           4They are the men who have kept themselves pure by not having sexual relations with women; they are virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They have been redeemed from the rest of the human race and are the first ones to be offered to God and to the Lamb.           5They have never been known to tell lies; they are faultless.           6Then I saw another angel

Revelation 7:1-17 (Good News Translation) 1After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds so that no wind should blow on the earth or the sea or against any tree. 2And I saw another angel coming up from the east with the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels to whom God had given the power to damage the earth and the sea. 3The angel said, Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees, until we mark the servants of our God with a seal on their foreheads. 4And I was told that the number of those who were marked with God's seal on their foreheads was 144,000. They were from the twelve tribes of Israel, 5-8twelve thousand from each tribe: Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph, and Benjamin. 9After this I looked, and there was an enormous crowd—no one could count all the people! They were from

Revelation 5:1-14.

Revelation 5:1-14 (Good News Translation) 1I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne; it was covered with writing on both sides and was sealed with seven seals. 2And I saw a mighty angel, who announced in a loud voice,  Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?           3But there was no one in heaven or on earth or in the world below who could open the scroll and look inside it.           4I cried bitterly because no one could be found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside it.           5Then one of the elders said to me,          Don't cry. Look! The Lion from Judah's tribe, the great descendant of David, has won the victory, and he can break the seven seals and open the scroll.           6Then I saw a Lamb standing in the center of the throne, surrounded by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb appeared to have been killed. It had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God

Revelation 4:1-11

Revelation 4:1-11 (Good News Translation) 1At this point I had another vision and saw an open door in heaven.  And the voice that sounded like a trumpet, which I had heard speaking to me before, said, Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this. 2At once the Spirit took control of me. There in heaven was a throne with someone sitting on it. 3His face gleamed like such precious stones as jasper and carnelian, and all around the throne there was a rainbow the color of an emerald. 4In a circle around the throne were twenty-four other thrones, on which were seated twenty-four elders dressed in white and wearing crowns of gold. 5From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne seven lighted torches were burning, which are the seven spirits of God. 6Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.  Surrounding the throne on each of its sides, were four living creatures

Revelation 1:1-20

Revelation 1:1-20 (Good News Translation)S 1This book is the record of the events that Jesus Christ revealed. God gave him this revelation in order to show to his servants what must happen very soon. Christ made these things known to his servant John by sending his angel to him, 2and John has told all that he has seen. This is his report concerning the message from God and the truth revealed by Jesus Christ. 3Happy is the one who reads this book, and happy are those who listen to the words of this prophetic message and obey what is written in this book! For the time is near when all these things will happen. 4From John to the seven churches in the province of Asia:  Grace and peace be yours from God, who is, who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits in front of his throne, 5and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first to be raised from death and who is also the ruler of the kings of the world.  He loves us, and by his sacrificial death he has free

Luke 3:1-20

Luke 3:1-20 (Good News Translation) 1It was the fifteenth year of the rule of Emperor Tiberius; Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was ruler of Galilee, and his brother Philip was ruler of the territory of Iturea and Trachonitis; Lysanias was ruler of Abilene, 2and Annas and Caiaphas were High Priests. At that time the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the desert. 3So John went throughout the whole territory of the Jordan River, preaching, Turn away from your sins and be baptized, and God will forgive your sins. 4As it is written in the book of the prophet Isaiah: Someone is shouting in the desert: Get the road ready for the Lord; make a straight path for him to travel! 5Every valley must be filled up, every hill and mountain leveled off. The winding roads must be made straight, and the rough paths made smooth. 6The whole human race will see God's salvation! 7Crowds of people came out to John to be baptized by him. Malachi 4:1-6 (Good News Translation) 1The LORD Almighty says, The day is coming when all proud and evil people will burn like straw. On that day they will burn up, and there will be nothing left of them. 2But for you who obey me, my saving power will rise on you like the sun and bring healing like the sun's rays. You will be as free and happy as calves let out of a stall. 3On the day when I act, you will overcome the wicked, and they will be like dust under your feet. 4Remember the teachings of my servant Moses, the laws and commands which I gave him at Mount Sinai for all the people of Israel to obey. 5But before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes, I will send you the prophet Elijah. 6He will bring fathers and children together again; otherwise I would have to come and destroy your country. Luke 21:5-38.

Luke 21:5-38 (Good News Translation) 5Some of the disciples were talking about the Temple, how beautiful it looked with its fine stones and the gifts offered to God. Jesus said, 6All this you see—the time will come when not a single stone here will be left in its place; every one will be thrown down. 7Teacher, they asked, when will this be? And what will happen in order to show that the time has come for it to take place? 8Jesus said, Watch out; don't be fooled. Many men, claiming to speak for me, will come and say, I am he! and, The time has come! But don't follow them. 9Don't be afraid when you hear of wars and revolutions; such things must happen first, but they do not mean that the end is near. 10He went on to say, Countries will fight each other; kingdoms will attack one another. 11There will be terrible earthquakes, famines, and plagues everywhere; there will be strange and terrifying things coming from the sky. 12Before all these things take place, howev
