A Life Pleasing to God

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of
righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, because anyone who
serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. Let
us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual
edification.

Romans 14:17-19 NIV

Honor widows who are real widows. If a widow has children or
grandchildren, let them first learn their religious duty to their own
family and make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable
in the sight of God.

1 Timothy 5:3-5 RSV

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in
knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are
excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of
Christ. Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by
Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
